Director of Technical Projects

Project lead for comprehensive redesign of the main Mills College web site focused on recruitment, rebranding, and responsive design. Administrative management of online alumnae community site overseeing platform architecture, online engagement, advancement/development, and communications tools. Oversaw work of cross-functional internal and third-party web teams as it intersected with key online properties. Other projects included redesign of inside.mills.edu, development of an online faculty directory, and data and marketing compliance initiatives.

12.2011 - 6.2016

Associate Director Alumnae Communications, Communications and Outreach

Oversaw institutional online communications (email, web, community tools, social media) to approximately 15,000 alumnae, parents, and friends of the College including production of the (e)ucalyptus newsletter, Bay Area events digest, messages from the President, annual fund appeals, and invitations for all College sponsored alumnae events. Product owner for the online alumnae community, driving business requirements, technology and vendor evaluations, data management, site navigation and visual design, ongoing site development and continued build-out, tool management, content management and production, email template design and development, events system management, and online gift processing. Main administrator for all alumnae-facing social media accounts (including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter). Special projects: Comprehensive redesign of undergraduate admissions web site, focused on incorporating responsive design and re-branding.

Online Community Manager, Office of Institutional Advancement

Led senior management through planning and implementation of the College’s first-ever online community and web site for its alumnae. Defined business requirements and drove third-party technology and vendor evaluations and selection, which led to in excess of $20,000 in re-design cost savings alone. Managed online properties end-to-end, including constituent data and database mapping, site taxonomy and visual design, content production, email campaign implementation, events system management, and online gift processing. Responsible for ongoing web site and community development, implementation, and life-cycle management as well as handled all day-to-day operations as the administrative manager of the College's iModules Encompass software platform. Also performed same functions for the Mills College Alumnae Association (aamc.mills.edu).

Project Manager, Wired.com

Responsible for managing the product development lifecycle for the Wired Digital websites ((Wired.com, Webmonkey.com and Reddit.com) and content infrastructure that included news articles, blogs, wikis, and social networking application support. Worked closely with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure on time delivery of new site functionality and content management software customizations. Championed Wired’s team move from Waterfall-based engineering practices to Agile methodologies and led the adoption of Rally as the internal development tracking tool. Responsible for communication and coordination between NY (business and engineering/IT) and SF (editorial) offices. Guided teams as ScrumMaster.

Responsible for setting direction, developing, and managing the product lifecycle of the University's giving websites including Giving to Stanford, the Campaign for Undergraduate Education (CUE), The Stanford Challenge, the Endowed Professorships directory, and the SAA/Development intranet. Created Stanford’s first rich media campaign, “Thanks a Billion”, which was delivered to its 200,000+ undergraduate alumni and donors at the conclusion of their CUE capital campaign. Defined and articulated product module requirements for alumni-facing site tool redesign, which later evolved into the alumni association's club tools.
